The association has signed a contract to fund the construction of the first rehabilitation centre for children with oncohaematological diseases in Bulgaria and the eighth in the world.

It is with great joy that we announce that on 27 March 2018 a contract was signed providing European funding for the construction of the first rehabilitation centre for children with oncohaematological diseases in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula, and the eighth in the world! The project will be implemented under sub-measure 7.2 “Investments in the creation, improvement or expansion of all types of small-scale infrastructure” of Measure 7 “Basic services and village renewal in rural areas” of the Rural Development Programme for 2014–2020, co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Construction will start soon, and our long-awaited dream will become reality! Once built, the centre will have seven single-family houses, an administrative building with activity rooms and a dining hall, a swimming pool and a place for solitude. The centre is complemented by the sports ground and the auxiliary farm, which are already up and running.

Over the past 7 years, many of our supporters, friends, acquaintances and strangers, companies and organisations have backed our cause, by helping to spread the word or by becoming donors to the association. And the result is 13 decares of land in Kostinbrod municipality. The rehabilitation centre will be built on 4 of them. It was precisely thanks to all our supporters that it became possible to build the sports ground, officially opened on 1 June 2014. Covering 2 decares, it has a multi-purpose pitch, playgrounds with swings and slides, and small vegetable gardens that let us, the children and their supporters unleash our farming potential. Open to visitors all year round, the ground hosts many organised gatherings — all kinds of sports festivals and events by and for the children and their families. It is also perfect for celebrating the most wonderful occasions of all — their birthdays. In spring 2017 we planted two hundred fruit trees and laid the foundations of the auxiliary farm, which covers 7 decares near the rehabilitation centre.
