European Pharmaceutical Strategy

The aim of the European Pharmaceutical Strategy is to improve and speed up patients’ access to free and affordable medicines and to encourage innovation in the pharmaceutical field. SIOPE (the European Society for Paediatric Oncology) and CCI-E (the European confederation of parent and survivor organisations) are calling on doctors, medical staff, parents and adult survivors to take part in the public consultations that have been organised.
There are three key aspects to this strategy
AVAILABILITY
A medicine is available when it has been approved for use in the member states or centrally in the European Union
ACCESSIBILITY
A medicine becomes accessible when it has been approved for use and is reimbursed by the state
AFFORDABILITY
Affordability concerns the financial ability to pay, whether patients have to buy the medicine themselves or the state has to pay for it.
The first phase — the ROADMAP — has ended
Why should we take part in the public consultations?
THE NUMBER OF RESPONSES MATTERS
The more people who fill in the questionnaire, the greater the chance that the European Commission will pay attention to the problems of childhood oncohaematological diseases.
In the public consultation on Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, 200 of the 2,000 participants focused on the problems of childhood oncohaematological diseases.
What do we need to do?
The deadline is 15 September, at midnight Brussels time!
The questionnaire can be filled in in Bulgarian!
To fill in the questionnaire, you need to register on the website with your e-mail address. Registration takes no more than 5 minutes!
To register and fill in the questionnaire, click HERE. If you took part in the previous consultation, you are already registered.
Once you have registered and/or logged in, go to this address: Public consultation

And from there to the questionnaire
Below we present the recommendations of SIOPE and CCI-E on what the responses should contain, to achieve the greatest effect. Of course, everyone is free to write whatever they consider necessary and relevant to the subject. The idea is not to fill it in by “copy-paste”, but rather to keep in mind the meaning of the message we want to convey.
