From breaking ground to the first family
From the very founding of the association, we dreamed of a place where children and their families could regain their strength after a hard course of treatment. The campaign began with the social video „Капка по капка“ (“Drop by Drop”), and over the years dozens of like-minded people, friends, acquaintances and strangers, companies and organisations have supported the cause — by telling others about it or by donating.
That is how we put together 13 decares of land in Kostinbrod municipality. Thanks to them, the sports ground also became possible — opened on 1 June 2014 on 2 decares, with a multi-purpose pitch, playgrounds and an outdoor gym.
On 27 March 2018 we signed a contract for European funding under Measure 7.2 of the Rural Development Programme, in April we broke ground, and on 14 September 2020 the centre opened its doors. Since then it has welcomed children and young people with oncohaematological diseases and their families every week.
What’s at the centre
- Seven family-type houses
- An indoor pool
- A two-storey main building with the rehabilitation rooms
- An equipped kitchen with a dining room
The stay and the services are free of charge thanks to project No. BGLD-1.004-0001 „Възстановителен център за деца с онкохематологични заболявания“ (“Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Oncohaematological Diseases”) under the programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups”, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014–2021, with Kostinbrod Municipality as the beneficiary.
Help one more family regain its strength.
Everything we have achieved has been made possible by donations and by the unpaid work of parents and volunteers.
