“Treasure” — a graffiti mural for our children in the park in Panagyurishte

In the town park in Panagyurishte, opposite the playground, there is now a graffiti mural with the inscription “Treasure” („Съкровище“), dedicated to children with oncohaematological diseases. At its centre is a superhero child. The wall was painted by the children from the first Balkan Sports Games together with local children, under the guidance of the artist Konstantin Krastev – Kostura.
The word was chosen for its double meaning: the children are the real treasure, and Panagyurishte is the town of the famous gold treasure. The idea was born a year earlier in Sofia, when Kostura was painting a wall next to the “Tsaritsa Yoanna – ISUL” hospital.
Children have superpowers, and with them they fill us with energy and hope. They are our real treasure.Konstantin Krastev – Kostura
The work was created by the artist’s organisation “0511” together with our association and the Run4mama initiative — and was donated by the artist himself. “Earlier today, they left a treasure in our town’s park,” wrote the Mayor of Panagyurishte, Zhelyazko Gagov.
