Summer camp 2019, Dobarsko

From 20 July 2019 to 30 July 2019 the project “Summer Camp for Children with Oncohaematological Diseases” („Летен лагер за деца с онкохематологични заболявания“) was successfully carried out in the village of Dobarsko, at the Hotel-Tavern Dobarsko. It was organised by the Association “Children with Oncohaematological Diseases” and funded by the Charitable Foundation of the “International Women’s Club – Sofia”.

For the fifth year in a row, children from all over the country who have been treated at the three clinics in the Republic of Bulgaria took part in the traditional summer camp for children and young people over the age of 10. Once again they lived through unforgettable moments, took in the incredible nature, had fun, shared their most intimate secrets and dreams, and celebrated being together.

The camp brought together 46 children and young people. As always, for their emotional and psychological comfort and for an incredible time, four leaders from the association were joined on the trip by a doctor, a psychologist and an art therapist.

This year, too, the summer camp for children over 10 became a triumph over pain and limitations, a celebration of friendship and trust.

The Association “Children with Oncohaematological Diseases” expresses its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the ladies of the International Women’s Club – Sofia, whose heartfelt support has, for the fourth year in a row, given us the opportunity to run a nationwide camp for children over 10 who have overcome cancer and other serious haematological diseases. The event is the only one of its kind and one of the association’s most important activities: thanks to it, the children and young people build their own community, support each other, help each other and share their joy.
