Children with Oncohaematological
Diseases

Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan

In connection with Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, which aims to examine the causes of inequality in patients’ access to the best possible treatment and care everywhere in Europe and how they might be removed, SIOPE (the European Society for Paediatric Oncology) and CCI-E (the European confederation of parent and survivor organisations) are calling on doctors, medical staff, parents and adult survivors to take part in the public consultations that have been organised. The idea is to draw attention to the specific features of childhood oncohaematological diseases, which need to be considered separately and recognised as a priority area. Within this project, actions will be planned to support, coordinate and complement the efforts of the member states.

Why should we take part?

The aim of the EU plan is to come closer to European citizens on an issue that affects everyone

For the first time, such an initiative has been endorsed at the highest level — by the President of the Commission

The more responses the Commission receives, the more the problems of childhood oncohaematological diseases will be noticed by policymakers

What do we need to do?

The deadline is 21 May, at midnight Brussels time!

The questionnaire can be filled in in Bulgarian!

To fill in the questionnaire, you need to register on the website with your e-mail address. Registration takes no more than 5 minutes!

What should your responses contain for us to achieve the greatest effect?

Below we present SIOPE’s recommendations on what the responses should contain, to achieve the greatest effect. Of course, everyone is free to write whatever they consider necessary and relevant to the subject. The idea is not to fill it in by “copy-paste”, but rather to keep in mind the meaning of the message we want to convey.

1. At the beginning there is a section with personal information — name, age, gender

If we take the time, we may have a chance to change policies for the better!
